Overview

I wanted to add another layer of simplicity to using this website, so I specifically chose to:

• Not use cookies
• Avoid any tracking, advertising or marketing technologies
• Not not include features that needed data collecting

You can browse freely without indicating who you are – although there are basic logging and web statistics collection tools to see activity and help identify malicious use.

Compliance

• GDPR:
  • No personal data collected – there are no forms, accounts, nor user submissions
  • No third-party tracking services are used
  • No embedded external scripts that track visitors are used
• Cookie consent banner is not required because:
  • None of the services / tools included have been set to use cookies
  • Analytics data is not shared with additional third parties

Site statistics and logging

Ideally, given the type of site, all the IP addresses would be anonymised. However, the hosting provider (Hostinger) has a pre-built access logging and basic analytics – you can read about how this works here: How to use the analytics section on hpanel

To better understand how visitors use the site, a self-hosted analytics plugin (WP Statistics) is used, with the following privacy settings:

• Server side analysis with no cookies
• IP addresses are anonymised and hashed (WP Statistics features)
• Privacy audit showing 100% compliance

This data cannot be used to identify you.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Hostinger, and data resides within the standard Hostinger data locations UK and Germany for backups.

Like all websites, the server processes basic technical data, as mentioned above, and is necessary to deliver the site. It is not used for tracking or profiling.
